Videogames these days are very much apart of culture and lifestyle. Are they approaching the level of relevance as literature, movies or fashion?

This thread is dedicated for video games discussions. Cheats, hints, and walk-throughs are also welcome.

I heard that the latest Lara Croft installment of kind of prequel with her being young and escaping the island as her first Tom Raider experience is a great success, and everyone is already waiting for the continuation. Some opinions even state that this kind of thrilling experience can and will very soon easily replace the movies, and future of cinematography lies in such video games (see Avatar movie for example)
